Abrasive Water Jet Cutting
The basic idea of abrasive water jet cutting (AWJC) means adding solid particles to a water jet. These solid particles are called “abrasives”. The high-pressure water jets have a high level of efficiency. This method has been proving successful for years in the industry. We can cut very different materials, e.g. metal alloys, steel, concrete, reinforced concrete, and high strength ceramics.
The Rohrer Group offers you complete AWJC solutions for on-site use. We use high-pressure plunger pumps, cutter heads, pneumatic guiding devices, abrasive vessels, and feed control. Especially in explosion-protected operational areas, this so-called “cold cutting process” is a secure and cheap alternative compared to traditional methods of precision cutting. Other implementations include the cutting of columns and heat exchanger insulation, the separation of pipelines and the cutting out of segments from bulk storage tanks or vessels.
